New Fundraising Officer appointed at Raise

FreyaAs part of plans to grow Raise and increase the amount of money available to support our three hospitals over the next few years, the charity has appointed a new Fundraising Officer to work alongside Sofia, Zoe and David.

Freya Hollingsworth (pictured) joins the team this week.

She brings a wealth of experience to the charity, having been a Community Fundraiser at Action for Children, covering the three counties of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Freya lives in Kings Langley, Watford so knows the area and our communities well.

Raise wants to increase its community fundraising activities, especially when it comes to challenge events and getting more people involved in what we do. The recent upsurge in community support for our three hospitals around the COVID-19 public health emergency has demonstrated that there is a strong willingness for people to get involved.

25 year old Freya tells us that she loves the outdoors and is a runner and cyclist, so we already have her earmarked to run a half marathon for us when they all re-open. She is also a keen traveller with a lengthy bucket list of places to visit.

Sofia Sheikh, Charity Director at Raise, said “I’m so pleased that Freya has joined the team. There is a lot of work to be done with our communities and her expertise and experience will be invaluable to us as things (hopefully!) start to open up again this summer. We are also laying the groundwork for a community fundraising programme in 2021 and as a result I think people will see more of and increasingly recognise Raise around our towns.”
