Staff at the three West Hertfordshire hospitals enjoyed free cooling ice creams in last week heatwave thanks to the generosity of Watford Scaffolding Ltd. The company provided over £1,000 of freebies which were served up by Mr Creamy at all three sites – Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans.
Temperatures midweek soared to over 30 degrees so NHS staff who were sweltering behind masks, gowns, visors, scrubs, goggles and gloves were really, really grateful.
Anita from Watford Scaffolding said “We are so glad that everybody was excited and the gesture went down well 😊. As to why we chose to support Raise, you are the local hospital charity to our place of work and during these difficult times its good to help our local community. As to why the NHS … obviously due to the current circumstances and the incredible work that you are all doing, it goes without saying that the NHS would be our first choice. We thank and appreciate you all, please keep up the good work!!”
Anita, we can assure you that it was wonderfully welcome and brought a smile to peoples faces as well as a cool respite.
