On Sunday 12th July, Dennis Carey and Debbie Brown took on 55 miles of running in celebration of Dennis’ 55th birthday! They chose to run for Raise, the West Hertfordshire Hospitals charity.
Raise is here to support patient care across Watford General, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans City hospitals. Every patient deserves the highest quality care and your donations help fund the latest technology, environmental enhancements, staff development and extra comforts that make such a difference to patients, day after day, above and beyond what the NHS can afford alone.
They ran, walked and crawled the 55 miles from Ruislip to Wendover and back again, stopping at Wenzel’s the bakers in Denham to refuel. Wenzel’s very kindly offered them free refuelling and sponsored Dennis and Debbie £100 for their efforts.
Freya Hollingsworth, Fundraising Officer at Raise said “we are so grateful for Dennis and Debbie’s support. What a great challenge and what a way to celebrate a birthday!”
Dennis and Debbie’s fundraising page is still open for donations. You can support them here – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dennis-carey1?fbclid=IwAR35WnXTlHLmueJGihy1ZpHRdLyWIt16icCTHfNnPgjSEnai49AJpGjxN3w
