Carehome resident pens poem of thanks

A Chorleywood carehome resident put pen to paper to write a poem of thanks dedicated to West Herts NHS staff working to keep the community safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

The poem was written by 104-year-old Joan Scoles, who resides at Turneys Orchard:

Wonderful workers in medical care

Spreading assurance everywhere

Helping those in direct need

Listening to those who plead

For comfort and strength to dwell

Back with their families fit and well

We send our grateful thanks to you

With much respect for the things you do

In addition to the beautiful poem, Joan’s fellow residents and the local community support from Chorleywood made a huge donation of treats, which Raise has distributed across all hospital sites and to our outpatient physiotherapy unit at Jacketts Field.

Thank you Joan and everyone for the generous donations and lovely poem!
