The Hertfordshire community – individuals and businesses – have reacted wonderfully to the Raise West Herts COVID-19 response hub. Dozens of volunteers, thousands of goods items, and over £21,000 have all been donated over the first few days through the hub which is at www/raisewestherts.org.uk/covid.
The charity has also launched an Amazon wish list to enable people to buy and donate gifts from safe at home. The list is being added to all the time and can be found at www.tinyurl.com/raisewishlist.
Sofia Sheikh, Director at Raise, said “The response has been fantastic and we’d like to thank everyone for their support. The outpouring of support for the NHS from the whole country has been incredible as we all know, and it is good to see this reflected in our local community as much as anywhere. Thank you everyone.
“Our website and social media is the go-to place to find out more and we are working hard to keep the lists there up to date … what is needed, what has been made available to staff, and what funds have been donated.
“There are many companies and individuals who deserve our thanks but it’s worth noting that we would struggle to receive and distribute all the donated goods if it wasn’t for the help of Watford Football Club, our next-door neighbours on Vicarage Road.”
