Easter was egg-stra special at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals, thanks to the generosity of local businesses including Anytime Fitness, Briggs & Forrester Group, Camelot Careers, Phidex and a group of kind hearted bikers from Hemel Hempstead, who came together to deliver over 1,000 Easter eggs for patients and staff at West Herts Hospitals.

Starfish ward’s senior sister Kerry Beasley, (pictured above second right with the Starfish Ward team and Anytime Fitness), said: “Huge thanks to everyone who donated. We really appreciate their support and this kind gesture makes a difference to children staying in hospital over the Easter holidays.”

A ‘Bunnies on Bikes’ ride was organised by Dacorum Motorcycle Riders’ (DMR) members Jon Andrews and Gavin King, with riders meeting at the Monks Inn pub in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday 1 April before setting off for Watford General to deliver Easter treats for young patients staying in hospital over the Easter holidays.

DMR member Jon Andrews said “It was great to support Raise’s Easter appeal, we had bunny ears on our helmets and had a van filled with hundreds of Easter gifts following our fleet of motorbikes. Thank you to the Dacorum Motorcycle Riders and all our supporters for putting the word out there and getting the gifts to the drop off point.”

Emily Theobald, senior fundraising officer at Raise said: “The number of gifts the Dacorum Motorcycle Riders continually deliver for our patients is incredible – a huge thanks to the DMR community and all the amazing local businesses who are so supportive of West Herts Hospitals!”
