West Herts celebrates 75 years of the NHS!

Thank you to our wonderful NHS!

Wednesday 5 July marked 75 years of the NHS. Treating over a million people a day in England, the NHS was the first universal health system to be available to all, free at the point of delivery.

Throughout those 75 years, NHS charities like ours have stood alongside the NHS providing vital support by raising money for specialist technology, environmental improvements and patient comforts.

People say that one of the things they are most proud of in Britain is the NHS. To shine a light on our amazing colleagues, #TeamWestHerts staff have given up their time to create a celebration video about what they enjoy most about working at West Herts.

“No society can legitimately call itself civilised if a sick person is denied medical aid because of a lack of means.”

Aneurin Bevan, founder of the NHS

To honour this amazing milestone and celebrate our wonderful trust, we invited supporters to send messages to our staff via postcards distributed locally. The postcards have been arriving at the Raise offices with lovely messages from grateful patients and the local community for #TeamWestHerts. Check out some of the postcards that have arrived in this short video:
