Fundraise for us

Our hospitals need their communities just as our communities need their hospitals

Do what you love whilst raising money for your local hospitals. Please contact us if you would like to fundraise for Raise

St Albans Half Marathon

Without incredible fundraisers like you, we wouldn’t be able to go above and beyond what the NHS can afford alone.

There are many ways to get involved. Fundraise at school, work, with friends, family or the local community! You’ll have support from our dedicated fundraising team throughout and we’ll ensure monies raised are used where most needed.

Community
Maybe hold a virtual pub quiz, sponsored walk or bike ride! In July 2020, Dennis and Debbie took on a challenge and ran 55 miles, raising vital funds for West Herts hospitals. Brilliant work!

Schools
Organise a dress down day or virtual sports day. Watford Grammar School for Girls ran their Fusion Dance 2020 event in aid of Raise and raised lots of money. Thank you, girls!

Work
Get together with your colleagues and dress down for the day, don your Christmas jumper, take part in a team event, or arrange a fabulous bake sale. Yum! Many local companies and staff teams have chosen to support Raise, and we’ll always try and give your organisation a shout-out too!

Things to think about

Here’s some guidance to get you started …

  • What kind of event do you want to organise?
  • Go go go – make it happen. It’s time to organise the event!
  • We can give guidance if you need it
  • Spread the word! Create a JustGiving page, use social media, tell everyone, and write press releases
  • Using JustGiving means collecting the money takes care of itself
  • For money collected elsewhere, there are a few ways to get it to us, ask us for details
  • After all your hard work (and fun!) you can relax after a job well done and take pride in your achievements and knowing that you’re helping to transform patients’ lives

Our fundraising promises

We promise that we will …

  • Make sure our fundraising follows good practice, is ethical and legal
  • Always comply with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice
  • Keep your details safe and never sell or swap them
  • Make our annual review and accounts clear and easy to understand
  • Contact you in the way you have agreed and send you information that we think will be of interest
  • Listen if you have a concern or complaint and respond fully
  • Learn from any misunderstandings or mistakes to ensure they don’t happen again
  • Keep you up to date with how support like yours improves patient care

How does it work?

Fundraising requires imagination and determination – but however much you raise, we’re thankful for every penny and we will support you every step of the way!

1. Decide how to fundraise
Will you run or skydive for example to raise money? Have a think of what’s possible!

2. Get pledges of support
Ask your colleagues, family and friends for donations.

3. Do the activity
Remember to prepare and train if required! Above all, have fun!

4. Collect your donations
Now you’ve done your fundraising activity, it’s time to collect with thanks!
